Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to lead all store processes, including staffing, training, ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation and selling. The role requires recruiting, training, evaluating staff, enforcing policies and managing cash controls to ensure a secure, high-performance operation.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, monitoring sales and inventory, coordinating safety measures, and processing paperwork accurately.

Qualifications

• Reading and interpreting documents, safety rules and procedures.
• Able to perform basic math and cash handling procedures.
• Experience with cash register functions and deposit control.
• Knowledge of inventory management and merchandising practices.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills; recruitment knowledge.
• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees; ensure proper staffing.
• Provide training, conduct performance evaluations and coaching.
• Make recommendations on pay and advancement; enforce policies.
• Communicate expectations; lead safety and security initiatives.
• Open and close the store reliably; manage daily cash handling and records.
• Monitor sales, expenses, inventory and shrink; ensure accurate paperwork.
