Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all store operations, staffing, training, and customer service. You will manage ordering, receiving, stocking, presentation, and selling processes while ensuring compliance with federal and state laws.

You will lead performance evaluations, schedule and supervise staff, and drive profitability through inventory management and shrink control. Strong leadership and organizational skills are required.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• 1 year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling procedures and deposit control.
• Ability to read and interpret diagrams, safety rules, and operating instructions.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees according to laws and company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provide proper training for employees; conduct performances evaluations; identify gaps for solutions or counseling, up to termination.
• Make recommendations regarding employee pay rate and advancement.
• Communicate performance, conduct and safety expectations; conduct meetings to encourage safety and policy adherence.
• Open and close the store as required; maintain staffing and smooth operations.
• Evaluate operating statements for trends, expenses, and inventory issues; review ordering and cycle counts.
• Facilitate stocking and merchandising following company processes; ensure pricing and signage are correct.
• Maintain inventory accuracy through controls on damages and shrink; manage cash accountability and security procedures.
• Provide superior customer service leadership and a clean, safe store environment.
