Job summary

Dollar General is seeking a Store Manager to oversee all aspects of store operations, including ordering, stocking, staffing and presentation. You will lead recruiting, training, performance evaluations, and ensure compliance with labor laws and company policies.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• One year of retail management experience preferred.
• Knowledge of cash handling and security procedures.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Knowledge of recruiting, interviewing, hiring, counseling and termination practices including legal compliance.
• Knowledge of cash, facility and safety control policies and practices

Responsibilities

• Recruits, selects, and retains qualified employees according to labor laws and Company policies; ensure store is properly staffed.
• Provides training for employees; conducts performance evaluations; identifies gaps for counseling or termination.
• Recommends pay rate and advancement decisions.
• Communicates performance expectations; coordinates safety and policy meetings.
• Ensures store is properly staffed and opened/closed as needed.
• Evaluates operating statements to identify trends and control opportunities.
• Manages stock: ordering, replenishment, and inventory planning.
• Facilitates staging, stocking and storage of merchandise; uses fixtures properly.
• Maintains accurate inventory levels and cash controls.
• Provides superior customer service leadership and safe environment.
• Ensures tools and store equipment are available; follows SOPs and policies.
• Completes all paperwork according to guidelines and deadlines.
