Job summary

Dollar General is seeking an experienced Store Manager to lead daily store operations, including staffing, training, and ensuring excellent customer service. You will oversee cash handling, inventory, merchandising, and compliance with company policies.

Responsibilities include opening/closing the store, coaching employees, and maintaining a safe, organized, and profitable shopping environment. The role requires strong leadership and communication, with a focus on loss prevention and efficiency.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent strongly preferred.
• One year of management experience in a retail environment preferred.
• Ability to recruit, interview, hire, and train staff.
• Knowledge of cashier accountability and deposit control.
• Strong communication and leadership skills.
• Familiarity with federal and state labor laws.
• Knowledge of safety and loss prevention policies.

Responsibilities

• Recruit, select and retain qualified employees and staff the store.
• Provide training, conduct evaluations, and counsel or terminate as needed.
• Ensure proper staffing, opening and closing, and store safety.
• Manage inventory, ordering, receiving, stocking, merchandising and pricing.
• Maintain accurate records and security of cash and assets.
