Job summary

Sur La Table is seeking a Store Floor Lead in Portland to act as MOD, guiding daily operations and delivering outstanding customer experiences. You will coach teammates, support onboarding, and uphold brand standards while driving sales and ensuring optimal stock and visual presentation on the floor.

The role emphasizes leadership, customer focus, and hands-on store operations with a flexible 20–25 hour weekly schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 1 year of retail management experience.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to inspire, develop, and retain a high performing team.
• Excellent communication, problem-solving, and decision-making abilities.
• Passion for community engagement and providing exceptional customer experiences.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and retail management systems preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead the sales floor and oversee daily store operations as Manager on Duty (MOD).
• Provide coaching and feedback to elevate performance and team engagement. Communicate performance issues to the GM/SM.
• Support onboarding, training, and development of new associates.
• Represent Sur La Table’s brand by delivering memorable, educational guest experiences to build loyalty.
• Drive store sales goals through customer engagement and team motivation.
• Ensure stock levels and visual standards on the selling floor; manage inventory transactions.
