Job summary

SpartanNash, Byron Center, MI, is seeking an Associate Engagement Coordinator to drive the employment lifecycle for the store. You will manage recruiting, onboarding, orientation, safety, and communications while partnering with local HR to staff events and resources.

The role focuses on a strong People First culture and retention strategies. The position requires a high school diploma, strong communication skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office; HRIS/HRMS experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• College degree or coursework in Business Administration, Human Resources or related area preferred.
• One-year HR administrative support experience or HR coursework required.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills and customer service abilities.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office; HRIS/HRMS familiarity preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage the full-cycle recruiting process in Workday, posting jobs and coordinating interviews with store leadership.
• Set up and conduct orientation for new hires and manage onboarding activities.
• Partner with local HR Business Partners to post or add hiring events and resources as needed.
• Oversee the first 90 days of employment to validate training and boost retention.
• Own store engagement programs including daily, weekly, and period-based recognition.
• Handle compliance items: I-9, minor work permits, and timely terminations.
• Maintain store associate spaces (break rooms, offices, training areas) and support the associate experience.
