Job summary

Goodwill Greater Milwaukee & Chicago's Palatine store is seeking a Retail Supervisor to help oversee store and donation center operations. You will motivate the team to meet revenue goals, support merchandising, and coach customer interactions to ensure a positive experience.

Key duties include supervising staff, operating the POS, coordinating product flow, and ensuring safety and loss prevention guidelines are followed. A flexible schedule with weekend availability is required.

Qualifications

• Two years of supervisory experience preferred.
• Ability to complete and retain forklift certification.
• Work varied schedule and flexible hours; a minimum of two closing shifts per week and every other weekend as scheduled.
• Must have working phone that allows for communication accessibility.

Responsibilities

• Project and Change Management: effectively plans and manages own work.
• Problem Solving: close supervision for routine work with detailed instructions for non-routine tasks.
• Technical Skill: basic knowledge of customer service fundamentals and routine requests.
• Community Engagement: serve as an ambassador for Goodwill in the community.
• Maximize the value of donated goods and maintain store standards.
• Coordinate rotation of goods to ensure new merchandise flow.
• Support training and coaching of employees; ensure adequate POS coverage.
• Assist with hiring process; complete phone screens and training as needed.
• Serve as service experience leader; operate register and manage cash controls.
• Maintain safe and orderly work environment; enforce safety practices.
• Work with Store Management on loss prevention procedures.
• Accurately complete required reports and share insights with leadership.
• Communicate policies clearly; report concerns to leadership.
• Plan and organize work to improve customer service and protect assets.
• Perform other duties as assigned.
