Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to oversee store development projects from pre-construction through warranty close-out. You will manage bidding, contracts, and coordination with cross-functional teams to ensure timely openings of new stores and remodels.

Applicants must be authorized to work in the United States and able to travel 80% Monday-Thursday, with a remote office day Friday. The role demands strong leadership, budgeting, and safety oversight to meet prototype standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; Preferred in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across contractors, developers/landlords, vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Practical construction technology and methods.
• Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and execute complex phased planning and construction schedules.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to recognize construction risk, evaluate alternatives and drive issues to resolution.
• Ability to travel weekly.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.

Responsibilities

• Lead project teams to deliver store projects on schedule and within budget.
• Oversee bidding, contracts, and approvals for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Preconstruction and Operations for project handoffs.
• Manage safety programs and ensure compliance with prototype standards and building codes.
• Provide value engineering feedback and develop cost-saving ideas to improve time and money.
