Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to oversee new store, expansion, and remodel projects from pre-construction through warranty close-out. The role includes 80% travel (Mon-Thu) with a remote office day on Friday, and requires authorization to work in the United States.

Key duties include managing bids, contracts, payments, and schedules while coordinating with Purchasing, Real Estate, Operations and Engineering teams to ensure projects meet prototype standards and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering or equivalent.
• 5–7 years of construction industry experience.
• Knowledge of architectural/engineering concepts and processes.
• Proven ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability.

Responsibilities

• Lead pre-construction activities: schedules, plan review, bidding.
• Oversee construction activities: progress, budget, sign-offs, close-out.
• Coordinate with GC/CMs, subcontractors, and vendors on Food Lion projects.
• Review bid documents, contracts, PO processing and payment workflows.
• Manage change orders and cost control to minimize risk and avoid delays.
• Provide value engineering feedback and monitor project milestones.
