Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to lead store development projects from pre-construction through close-out. The role emphasizes schedules, budgeting, bidding, and ensuring prototype standards across multiple stores.

Based in the United States with 80% travel Monday through Thursday and a remote office day on Friday, you will coordinate with Purchasing, Real Estate, Operations and external contractors to deliver on time and within budget.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across contractors, developers/landlords, vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to recognize construction risk and drive issues to resolution.
• Ability to travel weekly.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes related to GC's, CM's, and subcontractors for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Coordinate preparation of contracts, purchase orders, processing, and payment of requisitions and invoices.
• Oversee the Change Authorization/Change Order process and ensure timely payments.
• Review redlines on ARCH/MEP plans for compliance with standards and codes.
• Develop phase plans, schedules, milestones, and monitor progress against requirements.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Refrigeration, Real Estate, Preconstruction/A&E and Operations.
• Provide value engineering feedback and implement cost-saving ideas.
• Monitor developer/landlord-built projects and communicate potential impacts to scheduling.
