Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to lead store expansions, remodels, and new construction from pre-construction through warranty. The role requires 80% travel with a remote office day on Friday, and incumbents must be authorized to work in the U.S. full-time.

Responsibilities include managing bids, contracts, budgets, and vendor payments, coordinating across departments, and ensuring compliance with prototype standards and timelines.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction-related field or equivalent experience.
• Ability to lead projects through phases with contractors and stakeholders.
• Knowledge of architectural/engineering concepts and construction processes.
• Strong problem-solving and scheduling capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Oversee bidding, contracting, and approvals for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Coordinate bid documents, RFQs, plans, and schedules to minimize costs.
• Manage contracts, purchase orders, and invoice processing.
• Administer change orders and ensure timely payments to vendors.
• Review ARCH/MEP designs for compliance with standards and codes.
• Provide value engineering feedback and cost-saving ideas.
• Plan store projects and monitor milestones against timelines.
• Collaborate with Purchasing, Real Estate, and Operations teams.
• Monitor developer/landlord-built projects and escalates issues.
