Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to lead store development projects from pre-construction through close-out. Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree required; preferred in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across contractors, developers/landlords, vendors and cross-functional partners
• Practical construction technology and methods
• Demonstrated ability to develop, manage, and execute complex phased planning and construction schedules
• Ability to travel weekly

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes related to all GCs, CM's, subcontractors and various suppliers for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Manage the compilation of all bid documents, including RFPs, bid forms, bid plans, schedules, and RFQ packages.
• Manage contracts, purchase orders, processing, and payment of all requisitions and invoices for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Manage the Construction Change Authorization/Change Order process.
• Manage bid, contract and requisition approval process for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Oversee redline review of ARCH/MEP plans for accuracy and conformance to prototype standards and codes.
• Provide value engineering feedback to Engineering.
• Develop and implement cost saving ideas including value engineering and construction means/methods.
• Plan new store, expansion, remodel projects with phase plans, schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Refrigeration, Real Estate, Preconstruction/A&E, Operations and other stakeholders.
• Oversee construction activities to ensure timely completion per standards and lease requirements.
• Monitor developer and contractor performance on developer/landlord-built projects.
• Prepare period budget reports and track costs against commitments.
• Lead weekly project meetings with GCs, CM's, developers/landlords, vendors and internal partners.
• Inspect progress for adherence to plans and safety standards.
• Identify schedule risks and drive corrective actions.
• Manage multiple projects across a geographic area.
