Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I to lead pre-construction through close-out for store projects across multiple states. The role requires coordinating with vendors, developers, and internal teams to ensure timely openings and adherence to prototype standards.

The position involves significant travel (80% on Mon-Thu, remote Friday) and requires US work authorization. The successful candidate will manage bid processes, contracts, budgets, and schedules, while driving value

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5–7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Ability to manage multiple concurrent projects in a fast-paced environment.
• Willingness to travel weekly.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes with General Contractors and Construction Managers for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Coordinate bid documents, RFQs, and ensure accurate, timely bid packages.
• Oversee contracts, purchase orders, processing, and payment for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Handle Construction Change Authorization/Change Order process to keep costs in check and ensure timely payments.
• Manage bid, contract, and requisition approvals for projects.
• Review ARCH/MEP redlines for accuracy against prototype standards and codes.
• Provide value engineering feedback to optimize cost and time.
• Plan store remodels/new stores with detailed schedules and milestones.
• Coordinate with Purchasing, Refrigeration, Real Estate, A&E, Operations and other stakeholders.
• Oversee construction activities to meet prototype standards, lease requirements, and timelines.
• Monitor developer/landlord-built projects and address issues affecting completion.
• Present period budget reports to Senior Management and forecast impact of changes.
• Update budget reports and align with committed costs.
