Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I for Store Development in the USA. The role oversees new store, expansion, and remodel projects from pre-construction through close-out, with responsibility for budgets, schedules, and contractor coordination.

The position requires 5-7 years of construction experience, a relevant degree, and weekly travel with a Friday remote office day. Travel within the US is expected as part of store openings and renovations.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in construction management or engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural/engineering concepts and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across stakeholders.
• Ability to travel weekly; strong communication and presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes for GC's/CM's and subcontractors for Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Prepare and manage contracts, purchase orders, and payment processing for Food Lion work.
• Oversee change authorization/change order processes to control scope and costs.
• Coordinate redline reviews of ARCH/MEP plans for codes and standards.
• Develop and implement cost savings and value engineering ideas.
• Plan store/new store projects with phase plans, schedules, and milestones.
• Lead weekly project meetings with GC's, developers/landlords, vendors, and internal partners.
• Monitor progress to ensure compliance with plans, schedules and prototype standards.
