Job summary

Ahold Delhaize USA is seeking a Project Manager I in Store Development to lead new store, expansion and remodel projects from pre-construction through close-out. You will manage bidding, contracting, and cost control while coordinating with purchasing, real estate, operations and vendors to meet opening schedules.

The role requires travel across sites weekly, with a remote office day on Fridays, and work authorization in the United States.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree; Preferred in Construction Management or Engineering or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the construction industry.
• Knowledge of architectural designs/engineering concepts and processes.
• Demonstrated ability to lead projects through influence and drive accountability across contractors, developers / landlords, vendors and cross-functional partners.
• Practical construction technology and methods.
• Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills with the ability to recognize construction risk, evaluate alternatives and drive issues to resolution.
• Ability to travel weekly.
• Excellent oral, written, and presentation skills with the ability to communicate effectively across all levels of the organization.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented, demonstrating initiative, sound judgment, and the ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Responsibilities

• Manage bidding and awarding processes for GC's, CM's, subcontractors and suppliers on Food Lion-contracted projects.
• Coordinate bid documents and RFQ packages to minimize cost and prevent change orders.
• Prepare contracts, purchase orders, and process requisitions for Food Lion-contracted work.
• Oversee construction change authorization/change orders and ensure timely payments.
• Lead weekly project meetings with stakeholders and monitor progress against milestones.
• Inspect progress for conformance to plans and prototype standards, ensuring safety and quality.
• Develop phase plans, schedules, and budgets; monitor costs and variances.
• Manage project closeout, warranties, and final punch lists for timely store openings.
