Job summary

World Market in California seeks an Assistant Manager to lead a high-performing team and drive sales while upholding a customer-first selling culture.

In partnership with the Store Manager, you will oversee daily operations, recruit and coach staff, ensure safety and loss prevention, and maintain brand standards. Flexible schedule, including nights, weekends, and holidays, is required.

Qualifications

• Proven leadership experience in a fast-paced retail environment.
• Strong communication and adaptability.
• Ability to coach associates in the moment.
• De-escalation and conflict-resolution skills.
• Plan and prioritize to meet business needs.
• High sense of urgency and attention to detail.
• 2+ years leadership in retail preferred.
• Able to work flexible schedule including nights, weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Lead a customer-first selling culture by driving engagement, loyalty initiatives, visual standards and brand values.
• Analyze trends using available reports and translate into actions.
• Maintain World Market culture, values and standards.
• Plan daily tasks and duties with the Store Manager when needed.
• Recruit, develop and retain a high-performance, customer-focused team.
• Utilize company tools to guide team execution of key business functions.
• Support Loss Prevention policies and inventory controls.
• Maintain a safe work environment through ongoing training and accountability.
