Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Startup Operations specialist to manage all aspects of new Dedicated Transportation Solutions startups and ongoing field support. You will train drivers and managers, develop process documentation, and assist in system testing and design-level consulting.

Travel will be extensive, around 75–80%, and you must be willing to relocate to a new business location for defined periods while adhering to program guidelines.

Qualifications

• HS diploma/GED required
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred
• Two (2) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required
• One (1) year or more direct supervisory/leadership experience required
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) is required. advanced required
• Logistics industry knowledge advanced required
• Knowledge and understanding of Customer/Company local and Federal regulations. advanced required
• Fundamental knowledge of Supply Chain Management components. intermediate required
• Strong knowledge of Manufacturing and Production advanced required

Responsibilities

• Members of Start Up team focused on flawless execution and adherence to pre-established customer critical success factors
• Ensuring both drivers and managers understand the core operations and systems used for tracking compliance, driver pay, and customer billing
• Acting as an arm of management to answer questions and make quick decisions during the startup phase
• Training of new management team and Certified Driver Trainer group
• Building out of process flow and providing guidance on consistency of operations
