Job summary

Ryder System, Inc. is seeking a Startup Operations professional to lead new Dedicated Transportation Solutions startups and ongoing Field Operations support.

The role requires prioritizing tasks, developing process documents, and contributing to system testing and design-level consulting for new product features. Travel is extensive (75-80%), with assignment to a new business location nationwide for fixed periods.

Qualifications

• H.S. diploma/GED required.
• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain preferred.
• Two (2) years or more relevant experience in supply chain, logistics, warehouse or industry related field required.
• One (1) year or more direct supervisory/leadership experience required.
• Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Access) is required. advanced required
• Logistics industry knowledge advanced required
• Knowledge and understanding of Customer/Company local and Federal regulations. advanced required
• Fundamental knowledge of Supply Chain Management components. intermediate required
• Strong knowledge of Manufacturing and Production advanced required

Responsibilities

• Members of Start Up team focused on flawless execution and adherence to pre-established customer critical success factors
• Ensuring both drivers and managers understand the core operations and systems used for tracking compliance, driver pay, and customer billing
• Acting as an arm of management to answer questions and make quick decisions during the startup phase
• Training of new management team and Certified Driver Trainer group
• Building out of process flow and providing guidance on consistency of operations
