Under the general direction of the Office Chief of Project Management, a Staff Services Manager II (SSMII), in the Planning and Modal Program Management Division (PM²), the Staff Services Manager I (SSMI) serves as the Branch Chief for the Project Management Office (PMO) Project Support and Monitoring Branch. The incumbent manages a team of analysts and is responsible for ensuring PMP projects are properly planned, managed, executed, and controlled to maximize project success. They ensure consistent application of project management best practices, processes, and procedures based on the PMI and PMBOK standards. The role involves developing and delivering training, overseeing project management activities, supporting project managers, and promoting continuous improvement in service delivery and project management maturity.
The position is located at 1120 N Street, Sacramento. The incumbent works in an office environment with a dual-monitor computer system, primarily sitting or standing for long periods. Telework may be permitted at the department's discretion, with occasional in-person attendance required. Business travel may be necessary, with expenses based on the employee’s primary residence and operational needs.
Possession of a valid driver’s license is required. Applicants must meet the qualifications outlined in the Class Specification for STAFF SERVICES MANAGER I.
