Job summary

Affirm is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead the Fraud Decisioning team’s initiatives, building tools and systems to empower fraud fighting capabilities. You will work with Product, ML, Analytics, and Business teams to monitor and improve risk evaluation across the user journey.

You will mentor engineers, craft scalable designs, and help hire top talent while aligning technical work with business goals in a remote-first environment.

Qualifications

• 6–10+ years of software engineering with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience architecting, building, launching, and maintaining complex systems.
• Strong ability to work with Product, ML, Analytics and Business teams.

Responsibilities

• Plan and execute large cross-functional initiatives with clear success criteria.
• Create simple, scalable designs and write high-quality, maintainable code.
• Review peers' work to uphold high quality across teams.
• Lead and mentor engineers, fostering ownership and growth.
