Affirm is a remote-first company building fraud decisioning systems to protect buyers, merchants, and the platform. We seek a Staff Engineer to lead cross-functional initiatives, mentor engineers, and design scalable fraud-fighting tools.

You will plan, implement, and monitor large projects, working with Product, ML, Analytics, and Business teams to adapt to evolving fraud landscapes and optimize risk decisions across user journeys.

Qualificações

• 6-10+ years of software engineering experience with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience architecting, building, launching, coding and maintaining complex systems.
• Strong ability to work with Product, ML, Analytics and Business teams.

Responsabilidades

• Plan and execute large cross-functional initiatives with clear specifications and delivery.
• Generate simple, robust designs and anticipate unhappy paths.
• Write high-quality code that is easy to understand and reuse.
• Review others’ work and maintain high quality standards across teams.
• Lead and mentor engineers to help them succeed and grow.
• Provide context to engineers and train them to own parts of initiatives.
• Incorporate stakeholder input and align voices across teams.
• Participate in interviewing to inform hiring decisions and define requirements.
