Affirm is seeking a Staff Engineer to lead projects on the Fraud Decisioning team. You’ll build tools to empower fraud fighting, and work with cross-functional teams to adopt and monitor these systems, using data-driven decisions to improve risk deciders across the user journey.

You will mentor engineers, define technical specifications, review work for quality, and advocate for clear designs. This remote-first role includes an equitable pay structure and equity considerations.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of experience as a software engineer with leadership responsibilities.
• Experience architecting, building, launching, coding and maintaining complex systems.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers.
• Strong cross-functional collaboration with Product, ML, Analytics and Business teams.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent practical experience.

Responsabilités

• Plan and execute large cross-functional initiatives from definition to maintenance.
• Write clean, maintainable code and design simple, robust systems.
• Review peers' work to ensure high quality across teams.
• Mentor engineers and help them grow in ownership.
