Job summary

RethinkFirst is hiring a Staff Accountant for its accounting and finance team. The role reports to the Controller and involves daily accounting, journal entries, and month-end close support.

The ideal candidate holds a bachelor’s in Accounting/Finance with 2–3 years of experience, strong Excel skills, and proficiency in Sage Intacct. Remote-first with national reach, competitive benefits, and opportunities for growth are offered.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with Sage Intacct ERP.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent written and verbal communication; multi-tasking.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors with requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with policies, internal controls, and GAAP.
