Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. This role will perform day-to-day accounting tasks, support month-end close, and ensure GAAP compliance across financial statements.

The ideal candidate has 2–3 years of accounting experience, advanced Excel skills, and experience with ERP systems like Sage Intacct. This remote-first role supports a national footprint within the United States.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required (2–3 years of relevant experience preferred).
• Proficient in advanced Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUP).
• Experience with ERP systems like Sage Intacct is preferred.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities; excellent communication and organizational skills.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities, including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate and resolve accounting discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist the month-end close process, including balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines are met for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors with requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal controls.
