Job summary

RethinkFirst is seeking a Staff Accountant to join our accounting and finance team, reporting to the Controller. The role involves day-to-day accounting, journal entries, and assisting month-end close, with responsibilities including reconciliations, ensuring GAAP compliance, and facilitating external audit support.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Accounting or Finance required.
• 2–3 years of relevant accounting experience.
• Advanced Excel skills (PivotTables, VLOOKUP).
• Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong verbal and written communication, organizational skills, and multi-tasking ability.
• Ability to work independently on deliverables and meet deadlines.
• Ability to communicate with senior management clearly.

Responsibilities

• Perform day-to-day accounting activities including bank reconciliations.
• Prepare journal entries with supporting documentation.
• Investigate discrepancies and irregularities.
• Assist month-end close with balance sheet and P&L reconciliations.
• Ensure deadlines for financial reporting and management review.
• Support external auditors with requested documentation.
• Ensure compliance with policies, internal controls, and GAAP.
