Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Staff Accountant for Accounting and Financial Reporting to support monthly and quarterly close, prepare financial statements and footnotes, and ensure timely, accurate reporting. This remote role suits a candidate with 2–3 years of relevant experience and a CPA license.

Responsibilities include journal entries, balance sheet reconciliations, cash management, and assisting with audits, ensuring controls and compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• CPA license is required or strongly preferred.
• Proficiency with Excel, including Pivot Tables and data analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, MD&A and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting purposes.
• Record journal entries to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill and intangible assets.
• Review general ledger accounts for propriety, investigate discrepancies and prepare correcting entries.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting.
• Assist in the annual financial audits.
