Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Staff Accountant – Accounting and Financial Reporting to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting and the close process. You will prepare financial statements, footnotes, and journal entries to ensure accuracy and timeliness of reported figures.

The role requires a Bachelor's degree (or equivalent experience), 2–3 years of related work, advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP), and a CPA license.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 2–3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including Pivot Tables and VLOOKUPs.
• CPA license preferred or required in some cases depending on location.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting.
• Prepare journal entries to record financial transactions to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.
• Review general ledger accounts for propriety and reasonableness; investigate discrepancies and prepare correcting entries as needed.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting.
• Assist in annual financial audits.
