Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Staff Accountant to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting and the close process. You will prepare financial statements, footnotes, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure accuracy and timeliness.

This role supports audits and internal reporting, contributing to reliable financial results. The ideal candidate has a bachelor's degree and 2–3 years of related experience, with strong Excel skills (Pivot Tables and V-Lookups).

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 2–3 years of related experience and/or training.
• Proficiency in Excel, Pivot Tables and V-Lookups.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, MD&A and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting.
• Post monthly standard and adjusting journal entries.
• Record journal entries to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.
• Review general ledger accounts, investigate discrepancies and prepare correcting entries.
• Prepare monthly balance sheet reconciliations and research discrepancies.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting.
• Assist in the annual financial audits.
