Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Staff Accountant to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting and the close process. The role involves preparing financial statements, footnotes, journal entries, reconciliations, and other accounting reports to ensure accuracy and timeliness of financial statements.

Qualifications include a Bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2–3 years of related experience, with strong Excel skills ( Pivot Tables, V-Lookups ). CPA license is preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience required.
• 2–3 years of related accounting experience or training.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel, including PivotTables and V-lookup capabilities.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements and disclosures.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packets for internal use.
• Post monthly standard and adjusting journal entries.
• Record transactions to the general ledger for debt, equity, goodwill, and intangibles.
• Review general ledger accounts for propriety; investigate variances and prepare correcting entries.
• Prepare monthly reconciliations of balance sheet accounts.
• Identify and correct account discrepancies.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting; support annual audits.
