Job summary

Akumin is seeking a Staff Accountant to support monthly and quarterly financial reporting and the near-term close process. The role focuses on accurate financial statements, footnotes, journal entries, and reconciliations to ensure integrity of the company’s reporting.

Typical duties include preparing monthly internal reporting packets, reviewing ledger accounts, and assisting with cash management and annual audits, with CPA-eligible professionals preferred for advanced responsibilities.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field.
• Strong analytical and detail-oriented mindset required.
• Proficiency with Excel, Pivot Tables, and data analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing quarterly and annual financial statements, footnotes, MD&A, and investor reporting.
• Prepare monthly financial reporting packet for internal reporting.
• Prepare journal entries for general ledger: debt, equity, goodwill, and intangible assets.
• Review general ledger accounts for propriety, investigate discrepancies, and prepare correcting entries as needed.
• Assist with daily cash management and treasury reporting.
• Assist in annual financial audits.
