Job summary

Weil, Gotshal & Manges LLP in Redwood City, CA, is seeking a Sr. IS Technician to support the local office computing environment and maintain Weil's systems and applications.

Job description

The Sr. IS Technician is responsible for providing excellent customer support in the local office computing environment and providing maintenance and support for local Weil office systems and applications. There will be occasional travel to other Weil offices.

Primary Responsibilities and/or Essential functions:

• Provide 1st & 2nd level customer support for all IS issues, using the Incident Management System (IMS) to record, assign & resolve issues, including updating users on issue status.
• Record all changes to all hardware assets in the Asset Management System (AMS).
• Configure, test for quality assurance, deploy and support Windows, Mac & Virtual Machines (VM) computers, smartphones, printers, telecom & AV equipment, and other hardware provided by Weil.
• Provide set-up and support for A/V issues, including meetings and presentations.
• Provide IS orientation and training for new hires.
• Learn & support new technology relating to Weil to provide helpful customer support.
• Participate in IS meetings & calls, as required.
• Provide on-call and after-hours assistance for the local office.
• Identify and document new IS procedures in the IS Knowledgebase.
• Occasional travel to other offices to provide customer support

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:

• 2+ years of professional experience within a fast-paced, high-pressure professional services environment.
• Strong knowledge of Windows 11 & Office 365 Suite, Document Management, Web Apps, VPN, Smartphones and Mobile Device Management. Apple OS & Virtual Machine knowledge is a plus.
• Solid understanding of TCP/IP Networks and network security.
• Ability to organize and prioritize numerous tasks and complete them under time constraints and respond with the appropriate level of urgency.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate effectively in person and meetings, in writing, and via telephone to provide information and support with courtesy and tact.
• Ability to follow instructions and use judgement to ask for clarification and/or help, when necessary.
• Ability to communicate effectively with customers and upper-management and develop and maintain good working relationships with other members of IS and practice areas.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills in a sometimes-high-pressure environment.

Educations/Certifications:

• BA/BS preferred or equivalent relevant work experience.

Estimated hourly rate is $49.45- $57.69 ($90,000- $105,000 annually). This position is overtime and bonus eligible. Compensation decisions within the range are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case including but not limited to the individual's skills, experience, and qualifications.
