Job summary

S&ME invites motivated students to apply for the 2027 Spark Summer Internship across Civil, Environmental, Construction, and Geotechnical Engineering. The twelve-week program runs May 2027 through August 2027, with competitive pay and no housing provided.

Interns work with experienced employee-owners to gain hands-on exposure and professional development. Candidates must be enrolled in a related degree, be 18+, and may travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in a related degree program; Rising Juniors, Seniors, or Graduate students preferred.
• Related experience and/or campus, community, work-related leadership experience preferred.
• At least 18 years of age.
• Out of town travel may be required.
• For technical roles the ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions is required.
• Routine lifting may be required: 40 to 50 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Work alongside experienced professional and technical employee‑owners within your area of interest.
• Learn about all aspects of S&ME and participate in the Spark Internship Program across Civil Engineering, Construction Services, and related lines.
