Job summary

F5 is seeking a seasoned leader to manage the Solutions Engineering team within the Tech vertical, focusing on technical sales. You will establish objectives, oversee performance, and ensure the SE organization scales to meet ambitious goals.

You will partner with HR to recruit and shape the team, drive strategic planning, and align SE activities with product and business units. Excellent communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree required or relevant work experience.
• Several years of experience managing technical SEs in a leadership role.
• Thorough understanding of networking technologies and applications delivery.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technologies.
• Self-motivated with the ability to persuade direct reports and others outside the organization.
• Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate with all levels within an organization.

Responsibilities

• Uphold F5’s Business Code of Ethics and report violations.
• Manage the SE team: performance evaluations, PTO, assignments, training, coaching, disciplinary actions, interviews.
• Define core FY objectives, strategy and priorities for Engineers for the SE Team.
• Collaborate with management to define headcount quarterly/yearly targets.
• Manage candidate recruitments with HR to fill roles.
• Ensure effective communication and foster teamwork across the department and organization.
• Develop and organize SE to meet goals, including technical and professional development.
• Maintain an effective SE partner plan (PS, support, Marketing, PM).
• Scale the SE organization to meet objectives and plan for growth.
• Develop SE retention, recognition, compensation and career planning.
• Develop SE skills assessment and job planning.
• Ensure SE team is customer-focused: drive product requirements, market trends, customer success, and escalation planning.
