Job summary

F5 is seeking a leader to manage the Solutions Engineering team within the F5 Tech vertical, focusing on technical sales and ensuring the SE organization aligns with company goals.

You will establish objectives, delegate, and ensure resource readiness to meet/ exceed targets while mentoring staff and coordinating with HR for hiring. A strong networking background and exceptional communication are essential.

Qualifications

• BS or BA degree required or relevant work experience.
• Several years’ experience managing technical SEs in a management role.
• Thorough understanding of networking technologies and applications delivery.
• Strong interpersonal and presentation skills with the ability to articulate complex technologies.
• Self-motivated with ability to persuade direct reports and others across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Uphold F5’s Business Code of Ethics and report violations.
• Manage the SE team: performance evaluations, PTO, assignments, training, discipline, and hiring.
• Define core FY objectives, strategy and priorities for Engineers for the assigned SE Team.
• Partner with management to define headcounts quarterly and yearly ensuring scalability to meet goals.
• Manage candidate recruitments in collaboration with HR.
• Organize SE leadership to ensure effective communication and teamwork.
• Develop SE organization to meet/exceed goals including technical and professional development.
• Maintain an SE partner plan (PS, support, Marketing, PM).
• Strategic planning to scale the SE organization to meet objectives.
• Develop SE retention, recognition, compensation and career planning.
• Develop SE skills assessment and job planning.
• Ensure SE team is customer focused: drive product requirements and market trends to PM/PD, ensure customer success, and manage escalations.
• Demonstrate ability to understand customer requirements and present F5 solutions.
• Business analysis and strategy development.
• Identify market trends and competition.
• Provide product feasibility analysis in support of sales.
• Perform other related duties as assigned.
