Cal Poly Maritime Academy in Vallejo, CA is seeking Residence Life Department Assistants (Solano Campus) to provide administrative support and customer service to residents and university staff. The role operates up to 20 hours per week with an 8am–8pm schedule and is supervised by Residence Life staff.

Eligibility is limited to current Cal Poly Maritime Academy–Solano Campus students. Compensation is $17.50 per hour for a temporary, part-time position with varied duties across the Residence

Qualifications

• Knowledge of Residence Life and campus living environments.
• Strong commitment to customer service and support.
• Excellent interpersonal communication and teamwork.
• Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
• Flexibility to work hours including peak periods.

Responsibilities

• Provide front desk and customer service support for residents, guests, and staff.
• Greet, check-in, and respond to inquiries via phone and email.
• Utilize databases and systems (Office 365, SharePoint, StarRez) for operations.
• Assist with move‑in/out processes and room changes.
• Submit work orders, track maintenance, and assist with space upkeep.
• Provide escort services and support campus safety as needed.
• Collect data and assist with planning/reporting activities.
• Support outreach, events, and marketing materials for Residence Life.
• Maintain an organized workspace and assist with space reallocation.
• Perform other duties as assigned by Residence Life staff.
