Job summary

CVS Health in the United States is seeking a Software Engineer for the Workforce Insights platform. You will develop and operate Python and SQL services, build BI integrations, and work with data and HR partners to translate requirements into reliable code and releases.

You will contribute to BigQuery transformations, Superset dashboards, and deployment tooling while upholding security, data quality, and governance standards in a collaborative team.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of experience with Python, writing readable, maintainable code and automated tests.
• 3+ years of experience building or integrating APIs, services, data workflows, or other production systems.
• 3+ years across application code, data transformations, and operational tooling as work demands.
• 2+ years with advanced SQL in BigQuery, including scripting, partitioning, clustering, and optimization.
• 2+ years with Kimball dimensional modeling concepts.
• 2+ years with Airflow or Cloud Composer and Python for ETL, automation, and troubleshooting.
• 2+ years of hands-on cloud data platform experience; GCP knowledge (BigQuery, IAM, Secret Manager).
• 1+ year with an enterprise BI layer such as Superset, Power BI, Looker, or ThoughtSpot.
• 1+ year with Git, code reviews, and CI/CD practices (GitHub Actions).
• 1+ year tracing data or metric discrepancies to root cause and explaining findings.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain software features across Python, SQL, and workflow code.
• Translate product and operational requirements into technical tasks with data engineers and HR partners.
• Participate in code reviews, improve code, and write automated tests for business logic and data contracts.
• Build and maintain BigQuery transformations and models following conventions.
• Implement workforce metric definitions in SQL and BI integrations, keeping logic clear and testable.
• Document changes affecting numbers and obtain definition-owner approval before release.
• Contribute to Superset datasets and dashboard integrations, and support APIs, caching, or SSO.
• Develop and maintain Airflow workflows, Python automation, and deployment-related code.
