Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Software Engineer to develop and operate the Workforce Insight platform. You will work on Python services, SQL transformations, and BI integrations, partnering with data and HR specialists to translate requirements into maintainable code, tests, and releases.

You will contribute to BigQuery transformations, Superset datasets, and Airflow workflows, while ensuring security, quality, and scalable deployments across the product stack.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience.
• 3+ years of Python or comparable language experience.
• 3+ years building or integrating APIs, services, or data workflows.
• 3+ years working across application code, data transformations, and tooling.
• 2+ years of advanced SQL, preferably BigQuery.
• 2+ years of Kimball dimensional modeling.
• 2+ years of production experience with Airflow/Cloud Composer and Python.
• 2+ years of cloud data platforms (GCP preferred).
• 1+ year of experience with an enterprise BI layer (e.g., Superset, Power BI).
• 1+ year of experience with Git, code review, and CI/CD.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain software features across Python, SQL, and workflow code.
• Translate requirements into technical tasks with data engineers, analysts, and HR partners.
• Participate in code reviews and write automated tests.
• Build and maintain BigQuery transformations and models.
• Implement workforce metric definitions in SQL and BI integrations.
• Document changes affecting reported numbers and obtain owner approval.
• Contribute to Superset datasets and dashboard integrations.
• Maintain Airflow workflows and deployment tooling.
• Follow GitHub Actions release process across environments.
• Diagnose defects and contribute fixes and operational docs.
• Support safe releases through team review and rollback processes.
• Keep documentation current on interfaces and data lineage.
