Job summary

CVS Health is seeking a Software Engineer for Workforce Insights to develop and operate analytics software spanning Python services, SQL transformations, and BI integrations. You will partner with data and HR specialists to translate requirements into maintainable code, tests, and releases, building domain knowledge with experienced teammates.

You will contribute to BigQuery models, Superset datasets, and deployment tooling while following governance, security, and data-quality practices.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional software development experience or equivalent
• 3+ years of experience with Python or a comparable language with tests
• 3+ years of experience building/integrating APIs, data workflows, or production systems
• 2+ years of experience with advanced SQL, preferably BigQuery
• 2+ years of Kimball dimensional modeling concepts
• 2+ years of Airflow/Cloud Composer and Python for ETL and automation
• 2+ years of cloud data platforms (GCP) including BigQuery and IAM
• 1+ year of experience with an enterprise BI layer like Superset/Power BI
• 1+ year of experience with Git, code review, and CI/CD (GitHub Actions)
• 1+ year of tracing data discrepancies to root cause

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, test, and maintain software features across Python, SQL, and workflow code
• Translate requirements into technical tasks; collaborate with data engineers and HR partners
• Participate in code reviews and write automated tests for logic and data contracts
• Build and maintain BigQuery transformations and models for the product
• Implement workforce metric definitions in SQL and BI integrations
• Document changes affecting reported numbers and obtain owner approval
• Contribute to Superset datasets and dashboard integrations
• Support safe releases through reviews, validation, rollback, and incident processes
• Keep technical documentation current and modernize the Workforce Insight stack
• Share context and explain metric behavior to technical and non‑technical partners
