Job summary

Lowes Foods in Hanahan, SC seeks a friendly Pit Master to lead our Smokehouse team and provide engaging guest service on the sales floor. You will perform meat preparation, ensure product quality and uphold sanitation standards while training staff.

Ideal candidates are energetic, able to multitask, and comfortable performing in front of crowds. This role offers daily guest interaction and hands-on cooking within a retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Become the Pit Master and dedicate yourself to smoked meat on the sales floor.
• Interact with guests and hosts to create an engaging environment.
• Ensure all smokehouse staff provide friendly and engaging service.
• Engage guests through Smokehouse samples and suggestive selling.
• Demonstrate superior guest service at all times.
• Perform activities outlined in the Pit Master character performance description.
• Operate the department according to merchandising and operational standards.
• Maintain product quality meeting Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to staff.
• Handle product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking and guest service as needed.
• Maintain HACCP product information logs as necessary.
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
• Perform PA announcements.
