Job summary

You will train and supervise staff, perform meat cutting duties, assist with sample demonstrations, and maintain sanitation, HACCP logs, and merchandising standards on the floor.

Ideal candidates are energetic, comfortable speaking to crowds, willing to multi-task, and able to lift up to 50 lbs while delivering engaging guest service.

Qualifications

• Ability to supervise people including training and development.
• Effective communication and guest service skills.
• Must be able to lift 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Previous meat cutting/trimming experience.
• Previous Culinary knowledge and/or background preferred.
• Must be at least 18 years old.

Responsibilities

• Be the Pit Master on the sales floor with dedication to smoked meat.
• Engage guests and hosts to create an engaging environment.
• Ensure smokehouse staff provides friendly service.
• Demonstrate samples and perform suggestive selling.
• Maintain superior guest service at all times.
• Follow merchandising and operational standards.
• Maintain product quality and Lowes Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department.
• Provide guidance, orientation, and training to staff.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, stocking, and service.
• Maintain HACCP logs as necessary.
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed.
• Perform PA announcements and other duties as assigned.
