Job summary

Lowes Foods in Wendell, NC is seeking a Pit Master for the Smokehouse department on the sales floor. You will engage guests, showcase smoked meats, and uphold Lowes Foods standards while delivering fun, friendly service.

You will lead smokehouse staff, perform prep, cutting, stocking, and HACCP logs, and train teammates. The role requires 18+ and physical ability to lift weights; prior meat-cutting or culinary experience is preferred.

• Demonstrated ability and willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Effective communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel and stand for extended periods of time.
• Ability to effectively communicate with supervision.
• Ability to work well with computers.

Responsibilities

• Serve as Pit Master on the sales floor and engage guests.
• Interact with guests to create an engaging environment.
• Ensure smokehouse staff provides fun, friendly service.
• Demonstrate superior guest service at all times.
• Operate department according to merchandising standards.
• Maintain product quality and Lowes Foods standards.
• Provide guidance and training to Smokehouse staff.
• Perform product preparation, receiving, stocking and guest service as needed.
• Maintain HACCP logs as necessary.
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed.
• Carry out PA announcements.
• Perform other duties as assigned by management.
