Job summary

Lowes Foods, LLC is seeking a dedicated Pit Master to lead the Smokehouse department in Charleston. You will engage guests with a fun, high-energy presence and demonstrate products through samples and service excellence.

The role requires maintaining standards, guiding staff, and ensuring product quality while upholding sanitation and safety. You will perform duties from meat preparation to stocking, training, and occasional PA announcements, staying in character and actively driving guest

Qualifications

• Friendly and energetic demeanor suitable for engaging guests.
• Ability to perform in front of crowds and stay in character.
• Experience in meat cutting or culinary environment preferred.
• Capable of multitasking and following standards with accuracy.
• Strong communication and guest-service skills.

Responsibilities

• Be the Pit Master on the sales floor with dedication to smoked meats.
• Interact with guests to create a fun, engaging environment.
• Provide friendly service and maintain department standards.
• Demonstrate product through samples and suggestive selling
• Deliver superior guest service at all times
• Follow the Pit Master performance description
• Operate department per merchandising and operational standards
• Ensure product quality meets company standards
• Maintain sanitation and safety across the department
• Guide, train, and provide feedback to staff
• Handle product prep, receiving, ordering, stocking, and service as needed
• Maintain HACCP logs as required
• Assist with light meat cutting duties
• Perform other duties as assigned
• Make PA announcements
