• Capability to lift 25 lbs consistently and 50 lbs occasionally.
• Experience with meat cutting/trimming preferred.
• Culinary knowledge is preferred.
• Ability to read and understand directions and information.
• Knowledge of deli and meat department operations.
• Ability to supervise and train staff.
• Willingness to learn multiple tasks and technical requirements.
• Strong communication, guest service and selling skills.
• Must be at least 18 years old.
• Ability to bend, kneel, and stand for extended periods.
• Ability to take direction from supervision.
• Comfort with computers.

Responsibilities

• Be the Pit Master on the sales floor with dedication to smoked meat.
• Interact with guests and hosts in a fun, engaging way.
• Ensure smokehouse staff deliver friendly, engaging service.
• Engage guests with samples and suggestive selling.
• Demonstrate superior guest service at all times.
• Perform activities described in the Pit Master performance guide.
• Operate the department per merchandising and operational standards.
• Maintain product quality per Lowe's Foods standards.
• Maintain sanitation and safety throughout the department.
• Provide guidance, orientation, training and feedback to staff.
• Assist with product preparation, receiving, ordering, stocking, and guest service.
• Maintain HACCP logs as required.
• Perform light meat cutting duties as needed.
• Complete all other duties assigned by management.
• Perform PA announcements as required.
