Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic II to perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration systems and diesel engines.

You will handle both simple and complex mechanical and electrical repairs, read service bulletins, and complete required paperwork, while working independently or in a team. The role requires a High School Diploma or GED, 2 years of diesel/trailer experience, and a valid Class C license (Class A preferred).

Qualifications

• Have High School Diploma or GED.
• Trade school graduate in heavy duty diesel repairs, and/or refrigeration classes.
• Have 2 years job experience on diesel repairs, tractor-trailer, refrigeration maintenance and repairs.
• One year documented experience in fleet maintenance or one-year employment with company at upper scale of Class C Technician.
• Possess basic hand tools (up to ½" drive) and tool storage.
• Possess or acquire ASE PMI certification within 1 year from hire date (T8).
• Possess a valid Class C Drivers License (Class A preferred).
• Able to read, write and understand English well for job tasks.

Responsibilities

• Perform the functions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration.
• Perform simple and complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Diagnose, repair, replace or rebuild components as needed.
• Read service bulletins and technical manuals and maintain shop tools.
• Complete all paperwork and computer input.
• Follow safety rules and communicate effectively with team.
