Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school in heavy-duty diesel repairs preferred.
• 2 years' experience in diesel repairs, tractor-trailer, refrigeration maintenance and repairs.
• One year in fleet maintenance or upper-scale Class C Technician with company experience.
• Possess basic hand tools (up to ½" drive) and tool storage.
• ASE PMI certification (T8) preferred within 1 year of hire; Class C license required; Class A preferred.
• Reading and understanding English sufficient for job instructions, safety protocols, and communications.

Responsibilities

• Perform the functions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
• Carry out preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration.
• Perform simple and complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Diagnose, repair, replace, or rebuild components such as clutches, water pumps, tires, suspensions, bodywork, differentials, drive lines, transmissions, wheel seals, brakes.
• Diagnose and tune up or repair diesel engines; perform front wheel and trailer axle alignments.
• Troubleshoot cooling systems; conduct diagnostic tests; weld/cut with torch.
