Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. seeks a Mechanic II to perform repairs on trailers and refrigeration systems, with a focus on diesel engines and preventative maintenance.

You will work in a fully trained shop environment, handling complex mechanical and electrical tasks, and operate with safety and quality in mind. You'll diagnose issues, perform alignments, replace components, and read service bulletins to keep equipment in top condition.

Qualifications

• 2 years diesel repair experience on tractor-trailers and refrigeration systems.
• Experience with fleet maintenance and preventive maintenance programs.
• Ability to read service bulletins and technical manuals.
• Valid Class C driver's license; Class A preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform the functions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
• Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration.
• Perform simple and complex mechanical and electrical repairs.
• Diagnose, repair, or rebuild components including clutches, water pumps, tires, suspensions, brakes, and wheel seals.
• Diagnose and tune up diesel engines and perform alignments.
• Read and follow safety rules and document work.
