Job summary

McLane Company, Inc. is seeking a Mechanic II to perform trailer refrigeration maintenance and complex diesel repairs. The role requires reading service bulletins, performing diagnostic tests, and completing paperwork accurately.

You’ll work both independently and in teams, handling on-call shop duties and occasional road calls with company vehicles. Candidates should have a HS diploma or GED, 2 years diesel/refrigeration experience, ASE PMI certification, and a valid Class C license (Class A

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Trade school in heavy-duty diesel repairs and/or refrigeration classes (beginning level preferred).
• 2 years diesel/refrigeration maintenance experience.
• 1 year fleet maintenance experience or 1 year with the company at upper Class C Technician level.
• Owns basic hand tools (≤½" drive).
• Must have ASE PMI (T8) certification or acquire within 1 year.

Responsibilities

• Perform the functions of a Grade 4 Mechanic.
• Conduct preventative maintenance and repairs on trailer refrigeration.
• Perform mechanical and electrical repairs, simple to complex.
• Diagnose, repair, replace, or rebuild major components (engine, transmissions, brakes, axles).
• Read service bulletins and manuals; maintain shop tools; complete paperwork and input data.
