Job summary

Save-A-Lot is seeking a Meat Cutter to keep the meat department aligned with company standards and merchandising plans. You will trim and prepare standard cuts, service customers, and support store sales.

The role requires knife and power equipment skills, adherence to safety and sanitation policies, and collaboration with the Store Manager and team. Location is on-site in a Florida store.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Save-A-Lot Meat Cutter Training Program within 3 months.
• Previous experience cutting meat using hand tools and power equipment (knives, slicers, grinders, cubing machine, power saw) preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent customer service skills.
• Dependable and flexible.
• Must adhere to uniform dress code.

Responsibilities

• Cuts and packages authorized beef, pork and poultry items per Save-A-Lot policies; uses knives and power equipment.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and Save-A-Lot standards.
• Maintains displays and case signs to maximize sales; may assist with ordering.
• Maintains proper date rotation and cold chain; stores meat upon delivery.
• Ensures sanitation and quality standards per Save-A-Lot policy.
