Job summary

Save-A-Lot Meat Cutter is responsible for trimming and preparing standard meat cuts, ensuring top-quality display and adherence to the company’s standards. You will follow the merchandising plan and maintain cold chain from delivery to display while upholding sanitation and safety requirements.

The role requires operating knives and power equipment, inspecting and labeling products, and collaborating with store leadership to maximize sales and customer satisfaction.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Save-A-Lot Meat Cutter Training Program within 3 months.
• Previous experience cutting meat including using hand tools and power equipment preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cuts and/or packages authorized beef, pork and poultry items according to Save-A-Lot policies and procedures.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and Save-A-Lot standards.
• Maintains proper date rotation and merchandises meat displays to maximize sales.
