Job summary

Save-A-Lot is seeking a Meat Cutter to support the store's meat department in Arcadia, FL. The role involves trimming and preparing standard cuts, merchandising meat, and ensuring adherence to COOL, USDA and Save-A-Lot standards.

Responsibilities include weight/price labeling, receiving deliveries, maintaining cold chain, and delivering excellent customer service daily. Must complete training within 3 months and work well in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age.
• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Successful completion of Save-A-Lot Meat Cutter Training Program within 3 months.
• Previous experience cutting meat including using hand tools and power equipment such as knives, slicers, grinders, cubing machine and power saw preferred.
• Effective oral and written communication skills.
• Excellent Customer Service Skills.
• Must be dependable and flexible.
• Must adhere to uniform dress code.

Responsibilities

• Cuts and packages authorized beef, pork and poultry per store policies and procedures.
• Wraps, weighs and prices cuts of meat.
• Labels packages according to COOL, USDA and Save-A-Lot standards.
• Maintains displays and case signs to maximize sales and may assist with product ordering.
• Receives, inspects, and stores meat to preserve cold chain and quality.
• Ensures sanitation and quality standards daily per policy.
• Follows all Save-A-Lot policies and procedures.
• Performs other perishable or non-perishable duties to support store performance.
